April 4, 1966 – March 8, 2011.

Michael Christopher Starr was born April 4, 1966 in Honolulu Hawaii. Starr started his musical career in 1987 with the band Diamond Lie which also included Jerry Cantrell (guitar), Sean Kinney (drums), and Layne Staley (vocals). Diamond Lie gained large notoriety in the Seattle Washington area and later on took the name Alice in Chains. With the grunge scene in full bloom AIC scored a record deal with Columbia Records. Dirt, Facelift, and SAP ep were studio recorded with Starr on bass. After selling platinum records for Columbia and gaining large success in the music world Starr split ways with AIC touring behind the album Dirt.
