In the 80’s Hair Metal exploded onto the music scene in Hollywood, CA and the Sunset Strip was home to many of the most popular Metal bands of that time period. You could catch a band at just about any club, any night of the week on the Strip. 30 years later that is still the case . . . Just when you thought Hair Metal was gone think again. Many of that era’s popular Metal bands are revisiting their old stomping grounds on the Sunset Strip to perform some intimate shows for their loyal fans.
So what do you get when you have members of Black n Blue, LA GUNS, Stryper, Cinderella, Frehley’s Comet, Armored Saint, RATT, Dokken, and Bullet Boys in one band? You get LET IT RAWK…
Stacey Blades, best known for his gun slinging guitar riffs in LA GUNS has formed a “Super Group” called Let It Rawk. The Las Vegas based band is a group of all-star players from some our favorite 80’s Hair Metal bands – Jaime St. James, Stacey Blades, Oz Fox, Eric Birmingham, Scot Coogan, Sean McNabb, Robbie Crane, Jeff Duncan and Jimmy DeAnda. With Stacey at the wheel of this project, you know it’s gonna be good. While they don’t all take the stage all the time you are likely to see the lineup switched up a little bit at each show. While most of the members of Let it Rawk still play in their original bands full-time, they take the stage with Let it Rawk as time permits and when they are not touring.
Let it Rawk is hitting the road, performing all of our favorite 80’s tunes from each of the respective band members original bands. In addition they have recorded their first original single as a band, a song titled ‘American Rebels’ . . . A fitting title for this group of 80’s all-stars rebels. Let It Rawk played their debut show at Vamp’d in Las Vegas and are hitting the road for a few select shows this summer.
Hollywood are you ready? Let it Rawk is making their Hollywood debut at the world famous Whisky a Go Go on June 26th, 2014. With this all-star line up on stage, you never know who may show up when their friends are in town.
