Meg Myers returned to Los Angeles last night rocking the El Rey Theatre with an impressive 17 song set. The Nashville native, who calls LA home now, is in the middle of tour in support of her latest release Take Me To The Disco.

The show opened up with a pair of songs of the current release “Jealous Sea” and “The Death of Me”  before jumping back to her 2015 release Sorry and performing the lead track “Motel.” This trio of popular tracks had the Los Angeles crowd  immediately engaged. As Meg took a break for a drink of water the crowd began yelling out their appreciation in the forms of “Fuck Yeah, Meg”.  Myers acknowledged the crowd saying “I am hearing lots of great things from you guys..We are definitely down for Fuck Yeah!” which opened the door for that to be shouted basically anytime there was a break between songs.

The evening carried on playing most of the current album sprinkled in with a handful of classics including “Monster”  from all the back off her debut Daughter in the Choir.

Myers ended her main set with the staple “Little Black Death” before returning for a 4 song encore which was performed on a stool with Myers and her bass only, before being reunited with her band to close out the night with “Numb.”

Myers is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Don’t let the small frame and quiet demeanor fool you, this girl can belt and scream out the lyrics with a ferocious fire making you feel every emotion she is emoting.

If you missed this show – Myers will be back in SoCal on December 12, when she plays the KRAB Christmas Show in Bakersfield.
