Canadian superstar Lights brought her “Baby I’m Back” tour to Nashville on Saturday night with a sold-out performance at The Basement East.

Opening the show on Saturday was Vans Warped Tour alumni tiLLie. The red haired vocalist was on fire from the beginning of her set, and had the entire venue moving along to the beat of each song. While captivating an audience is one thing, but getting them to also engage is a completely different thing, and this youngster has that talent mastered. Not only was the crowd bopping along to the beats, but they were also engaging in sing-along moments. tiLLie is on the Lights tour through the first week of May – so be sure to try and catch her soon.

The real highlight of the night came shortly after 10pm, as the lights dimmed and the 35year old singer ran onto the stage sending the capacity crowd into a complete frenzy. Opening her set was the hit “Prodigal Daughter” off her 2022 Elektra Records release Pep. The song is also where the title of the tour comes from, featuring the line in the chorus of “Baby I’m Back. ” Then Lights shifted gears and went deep into her catalog with “Ice” from the 2009 Release The Listening.

The multi-faceted musician bounced around her entire catalog playing selections from all 5 of her albums. When your catalog is chalk-full of bangers, it makes having a set full of crowd favorites a piece of cake. Lights is a master performer, working the crowd from side to side, all while playing guitar, or tweaking the synths. Lights currently has three weeks left on the currently announced tour and then a couple of festival appearances so far, but I would suspect we will see some more dates/festivals announced before too long.
