In another sold-out show for James Arthur, he certainly gave it his all at this excellent gig from the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville TN on 05/05/2022. Even though James was suffering from a lingering case of laryngitis, no one would have known it by the way he sang each of the 13 songs he played. His silky deep reaching vocals seemed to flow with ease carrying each song to a place that matched the intricate meanings of his lyrics.

James Arthur is a 34 year old English singer and songwriter. He started writing and performing at age 15. Over the next few years he was in several different start-up bands, but it was his success on the 9th season of the TV show “The X Factor” that brought him into the spotlight.

After winning the show’s top spot that year, James released a cover of Shontelle’s, “Impossible” as the winner’s single from the show, and it became the 7th biggest selling single from an “X Factor” contestant in the history of the series. It went on to sell over 2.5 million copies worldwide. Arthur’s music career has continued to flourish with five studio albums and thirty+ singles. His latest album It’ll All Make Sense in the End was released in November of last year and rose to number three on the UK Album Charts.

Arthur’s current USA “It’ll All Make Sense, Tour” runs through May ending in New York City. He’ll be headed back to Europe to continue touring.

Opening for James Arthur was Nina Nesbitt. Nina played a solo set of original and cover songs on the keyboard and acoustic guitar. At one point she mentioned a fan who had wrote her about wearing a cowboy hat that fan had for her. Surprising, the fan was in the audience with the hat, and Nina was just thrilled to ware it for the next few songs.

Nina is a 27 year old Scottish pop inspired singer and songwriter, who originally wanted to be an author. After uploading a cover version of Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” to her YouTube channel and receiving lots of positive feedback, she started using her short stories as lyrics to songs she created on the keyboard and guitar. Nina’s YouTube channel gained her a loyal following, and then a chance meeting with pop star Ed Sheeran moved Nina’s music path along even quicker as he asked her to go on tour with him as his opening act.

Nina Nesbitt has 2 studio albums with The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change, being her latest. Currently she is touring in the US through May.
