A steamy June summer night in Tennessee, proved to be the perfect ingredient for heavy hitters Starset,
Red and special guest Oni and Divide the Fall to invade The Signal, just outside of downtown in
Chattanooga. A huge crowd packed the venue in anticipation of seeing one of the hottest tours crossing
the country this summer.

Fresh to the tour, newcomers Divide the Fall opened the show to a very hungry crowd. Formed in 2017
in Minneapolis MN, members Ethan Weinaug – Vocals, Jake Hankel – Guitar, Matthew DeMar – Bass
and Jack McKoskey on Drums started things off right. The guys had a short set, but had the crowd
singing both of their hits “I Won’t Fade Away” and “Bring You Down”. The lack of lighting or stage props
didn’t seem to matter as the band rocked things the old-fashioned way. Just straight forward Rock!!
Ontario Canada’s Oni kept the show going. The guys just released their second album “Loathing Light”
earlier this year and played a nice mix of songs from it as well as their debut album “Ironshore”. Working
on a small patch of stage, frontman and band namesake Jake Oni absolutely belted out the heavy riffed
hits from both albums, including the crowd favorite “Secrets” that features an on-album collaboration
from Iggy Pop.

Nashville’s Christian rock band Red, took the stage and upped the energy in the building tenfold. Formed
in 2002 and boasting 7 albums and countless hit singles, Brothers Anthony Armstrong on Guitar and
Randy Armstrong on Bass joined by Frontman Michael Barnes and newcomer to the band, Drummer
Brian Medeiros are definitely the veterans on this tour. Two rows of television screens spanned the
stage playing odd bits of media. The band opened with the hit “Feed The Machine” and absolutely
rocked the Signal with “Faceless” and “The Evening Hate” as well as others with a pace that left
everyone in awe. Frontman Michael Barnes was literally all over the stage and at one point, jumped into
the pit and greeted fans face to face. His voice was flawless and the rest of the band never missed a
beat. They ended the set with one of my favorites, “Breathe Into Me” and left the crowd and myself
wanting more!! The energy these guys gave us fans was indescribable.

House lights dimmed and an eerie intro theme played as headliners Starset took to the stage with their
hit “Carnivore”. Frontman Dustin Bates, Bassist Ron DeChant, Guitarist Brock Richards, Drummer Adam
Gilbert, Violinist Siobhan Richards, Celloist Zuzana Engererova and Synth player Cory Juba have created
an absolutely amazing experience that defies description. The band dressed in post-Apocalyptic gear
create a visually stunning atmosphere. The stage appears to be the deck of some futuristic space
machine, while lasers, stunning white lights and smoke create something far more than a show. The
effects seem to draw you in with the band and transport you to another place. I lost track of time as we
were treated to an hour plus of hits “Satellite”, “Devolution” and ending the night with another crowd
favorite, “My Demons”. If you haven’t seen…or “Experienced” a Starset show, definitely make sure you
add it to your must see shows!
