British Progressive Rockers The Pineapple Thief (who also have one of the coolest band names in existence) made a triumphant return to Los Angeles as its been a minute since they last appeared in the City of Angels. They mesmerized a full house at The El Rey Theater on Thursday May 27.

Along with vocalist/guitarist Bruce Soord, bassist/vocalist Jon Sykes, Steve Kitch on keyboards and touring guitarist Beren Matthews, Porcupine Tree/King Crimson drummer Gavin Harrison is on drums. The band played a tight 17 song set that showed the band’s razor-sharp cohesiveness. There is nothing better than a live prog show and The Pineapple Thief proved again they are one of the premier bands in the genre.

The Pineapple Thief Set List:

Versions of the Truth | In Exile | Demons | No Man’s Land | Our Mire | That Shore | Give It Back | Fend for Yourself | Far Below | Dead in the Water | Driving Like Maniacs | White Mist | Uncovering Your Tracks | Wretched Soul
